Zdeněk MRÁZ

He was born in Prague (1937). From childhood he showed a talent for playing the violin - for a while his teacher was Prof. Josef Pekelský (primary of the Ondříček Quartet) and he prepared him for the entrance exam to the conservatory. He left the conservatory as part of the "Lánská action" - (due to which many young people signed up for the mining profession in the 1950s and this led to the development of apprenticeship education) and Zdeněk became a mining apprentice in Kladno, where he later completed a four-year mining vocational school. After graduation, he started studying at the VŠB (1957) and in 1958 he was at the birth of CM Technik (or at that time still "new" music of the VŠB) as its first primate. He worked in music until 1969, when he emigrated to Canada. In 1998, he performed with the founding musicians at the 40th anniversary concert of the band Technik.
